You will cross the Rialto Bridge to reach the San Polo district ... Step after step, the bridge will reveal all of its magic to you, up to its top from where sweeping views of the Grand Canal will award you with glimpses of unmatched beauty.
The area around the famous bridge is the oldest part of the city. It has always had a strictly commercial purpose and, even if the leading role it played as the trading nerve centre of the Serenissima has gradually been lost over the centuries, fish and fruit and vegetable markets are still held every day at the foot of the bridge.
Before or after the tour, take the opportunity to have a wander around the market stalls. In addition to enjoying an impressive view of the Grand Canal, you will see for yourself how the thousand-year long history of this trading area continues to the present day.

Strolling around you will come across coffee bars and room-size shops, many of which are handed down from generation to generation.
San Polo is the smallest district in Venice, as well as one of the oldest. It is a lively area, which has managed to maintain its own identity and atmosphere thanks to the fact that it is not included in the routes chosen by tourists to reach the St Mark’s area.

Inside it, there are three naves and seven apsidal chapels on a cross floor plan. In addition to the tombs of various figures linked to Venice such as Claudio Monteverdi and Titian, who died in Venice during the 16th century plague, it houses numerous works of art of great value.
