Additional information:
  • Once your booking has been confirmed, download the voucher which we will also send to you via email. You will need to present it at the starting point, either printed or on your smartphone.

  • Please arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the departure time. At the departure point, a member of staff will check your voucher and give you instructions.

  • The Procuratoria di San Marco reserves the right to prohibit visits and access to the basilica at any time and without notice for reasons of force majeure (e.g. high water) and/or safety reasons. In cases of extra liturgical ceremonies, exceptional high tides or other special occasions, access to St Mark's Basilica may not be permitted and therefore the tour will not take place.

  • Access to the Basilica is only permitted to visitors with suitable attire (no shorts or vest or tops) and backpacks are not allowed for safety reasons.

  • This is a collective tour, which means there might be other participants going on the tour with you. A gondola can host up to 5 people, thus if your reservation includes more than 5 people, your group will be divided into smaller groups, or rather you will enjoy different gondolas.

  • The tour guide will speak exclusively in the language you chose at the time of booking, without repeating again the same explanations in other languages.

  • In case of bad weather, the tour may be suspended. However, we ask you to present yourself at the boarding point to find out if the tour takes place or learn about any alternative options for the service you purchased.

  • Locate in advance the meeting point on the map to avoid arriving late especially in the event of strikes, demonstrations or bad weather: we cannot guarantee you any refund (in full or in part) if you do not present yourself at the meeting point at the specified time or if you decide to leave the experience before the end. If you need assistance, feel free to contact us at the emergency contacts shown in the reservation voucher.

  • This is a combo tour including 3 single tours: no explanations during the gondola ride; guided tour only inside St. Mark’s Basilica and during the walk. Between the tours there is free time.

  • Please note that, due to the particular morphological structure of Venice and the logistic problems resulting from it, we cannot guarantee that the whole tour is accessible to people with limited mobility. This means that people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users could not be able to access some parts of the itinerary.

  • The pictures on this page may not exactly represent the itinerary of the gondola ride.

In exceptional cases and/or reasons of force majeure (i.e. acts of nature, strikes, exceptional closures, serious unexpected events or health problems experienced by the person in charge with the service after which it is really impossible to find a substitute) the service you booked might be cancelled. If this should happen, you will be informed as soon as possible and, according to the type of service you booked, you will have the possibility to choose between postponing the service on the first date available or receiving a total refund of the price paid, if the cancellation policy of the service itself allows a refund.

Full description

Enjoy the best of Venice with this combination tour consisting of a walk in Venice, a Gondola Ride and a guided tour of St. Mark's Basilica! Grab three unmissable Venice classics and save money: the combined tour is cheaper than buying the individual tours.

Walk in Venice

The first part of the tour is a walk to admire the most important and characteristics places in Venice. You will walk between St Mark’s Square and Rialto accompanied by an expert tour guide, who will tell you the history, anecdotes and interesting facts of the places you will visit.

The tour starts from one of the iconic sights in Venice, St Mark’s Square, to continue towards Santa Maria Formosa, with the splendid church and the square of the same name. You will reach Campo Santi Giovanni and Paolo and from here you will walk to one of the most fascinating corners of Venice, where history and myth blend together: after visiting the place where Marco Polo's house once stood, you will admire the exterior of the famous Malibran Theater.

The last part of the walk will take place along the Mercerie, a fascinating network of alleyways where precious goods from faraway markets were once sold in Venice.

Shared gondola ride

The second part of the tour is an enchanting gondola ride lasting about half an hour through the canals of the historic center, to admire the majestic buildings overlooking the water, the countless bridges and breathtaking views.

The gondola ride starts from the Basilica della Salute, an imposing Baroque church that is the undisputed protagonist of the views between St Mark’s Bay and the Grand Canal. You will then enter the smaller canals, where you will discover the most authentic side of Venice feeling lulled by the gentle swaying of the boat. Finally, the gondola ride will take you to Venice’s Fenice to admire its scenic tower, devastated by the terrible fire of 1996, but today faithfully rebuilt.

Guided tour of St Mark’s Basilica

The last stage of your tour dedicated to the best of Venice is St Mark’s Basilica.

Thanks to the skip-the-line ticket, you can enter the "Golden Church" without having to queue: this is how the Basilica has been known since time immemorial due to its mosaics and the precious Treasury of San Marco.

The guided tour route winds through the elaborate architectural structures, mosaics and precious relics kept inside the Basilica and includes the women's galleries, the former Banqueting Hall and the rooms above the narthex. You will also visit the San Marco Museum, housed on the first floor, where the famous Quadriga that originally stood on the top of the facade of the Basilica is exhibited.

And to end with a bang, you can enjoy an unparalleled view of St. Mark's Square from the museum's outdoor terrace!

'Amazing tour'

A must-do when you're in Venice!!!! We started early morning walking around Venice and finding places not normally mentioned in brochures. The gondola ride and entrance to St. Mark's Cathedral were great and hassle free. I would highly recommend booking this tour during your stay in Venice.

'1.Venice Walking Tour, St Mark's Basilica & Gondola Ride - Venice'

the Venice Walking Tour, St Mark's Basilica & Gondola Ride - In Venice on the whole was very good, The initial meeting place and organisation in St Marks Square was a bit disorganised but once they got sorted it was alright. The walking tour was the best bit very informative and you saw bits of Venice you probably wouldn't have (unless you got lost) the guide was very helpful and gave lots of suggestions of things to do and see in Venice, the St Marks Basilica also was very informative but due to there being a rain storm it appeared that the whole of Venice's Tourist industry had pilled into there thus making it very busy and difficult to move. the guide did her best to fill in the time so it was still all good however the gondola trip was disappointing there were 6 of us in the gondola and my wife was at the opposite end of the gondola which kind of ruined the experience this is why I have marked down the overall score.

Dear roadstermatt,

thank you for you detailed feddback! We are sorry that the gondola ride partially ruined the whole experience. Unfortunately this is a collective tour, so the gondola is not at your entire disposal … It may happen that there are no two seats together available on the same gondola and therefore you have to accommodate on the ones available. Next time, if you wish to try a private experience, we suggest you our private gondola tour… Of course, it costs more than the collective one but you will share the experience only with people at your choice, up to a maximum of 6!

Best regards,
The staff

We had a pleasant time strolling through venice channels and bridges, all of it clearly explained by the veneto inside staff. We surely will do other routes as well.

'No fast track access to St Marks'

Did a nice tour of Venice with Veneto inside, included guide and gondola ride , but was extremely disappointed that the advertised fast track addition was denied. Tour guide argued with police and entrance for 10 mins , Then we were told that we had to wait in normal line

Gondola ride

No fast track

Dear George C,

we are sorry you could not benefit from the skip-the-line entrance. Usually the service runs regularly, but it may happen that, due to causes of force majeure, it has to be temporary suspended. We apologise for any inconvenience!

Best regards,
The staff

'Excellent tour for solo travellers'

The tour guides were friendly and informative. The best part for me was the opportunity to take a gondola ride. I wouldn't have done this on my own. Also missing the queues at St Mark's was a real bonus. As the tours are split into individual parts that can be booked separately the only mark down was for some confusion between parts of the tour when I almost missed the gondola group
