The tour will start in St. Mark’s Square, where a local highly qualified guide will be waiting for you to begin with a pleasant introduction to the visit, allowing you to frame the construction of the building within the historical and artistic context that made Venice a 'bridge between the East and West'.

The tour will continue with the access to the church... Its monumental historiated portals will be open especially for you!

Take advantage of a St Mark’s cathedral Venice guided tour and crypt entrance after closing hours and seize a rare opportunity given only to a few! You will enjoy the quiet and relaxed atmosphere that once reigned in this huge building built in the eleventh century especially for one man: the Doge of Venice.

To avoid losing precious time queueing, you will be able to directly enter the basilica: the absence of the large crowds that invade the Basilica during normal opening times allows you to get a clear view of the 8,000 square metre gold mosaics... in floodlight! During the tour, in fact, the lights of the apse will be on, allowing you to admire the mosaics in all their precious splendour. In addition, you will have the opportunity to visit an area normally inaccessible to the public... The crypt, the original church built in the ninth century under the present one to house the corpse of St. Mark. The guide will accompany you into the intricacies of this ancient place, relating the events of the evangelist relic that was stolen in Alexandria.

Thanks to the guide's explanations, selected especially for the occasion thanks to their extensive knowledge on the monument, you will be completely immersed in this show of lights, gems and artistic beauties that have written the history of art from the founding of the church to the present day.
